Awbridge School – Gold School Games Mark 2016/2017
We are delighted to announce that we have achieved the GOLD School Games Mark Award for the 2016/17 academic year.
The School Games Mark is a Government led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.
We are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible. Thank you to all parents who have driven their and other children to the myriad of sporting events over the year.
Thank you especially to Mrs Buckingham for her amazing commitment to the children and the school. In three years we have gone from Bronze, to Silver and now to GOLD.
The children, staff and governors of Awbridge Primary, welcome you to our school website.
Welcome… Powitanie… Accueil… Benvenido… Benvenuto.
Whilst idyllically rural in location, we are also just three miles north west of the market town of Romsey, 10 miles from the bustling city port of Southampton and 15 miles from the picturesque cathedral city of Salisbury.
We have a wonderfully dedicated, enthusiastic and committed team; who consistently work hard to give the very best education, both academically and socially, to our children. Parents and carers play a very important part of school life and we value our partnership with them. We all share responsibility for the children’s education and we look forward to working closely together in their best interests.
We hope that you will enjoy exploring the website, which will give you a tantalising glimpse into what makes Awbridge a really special place for our children. In January 2017 we were rated as Good by Ofsted who recognised all the achievements of the school, the drive and ambition within the school and the positive attitudes the children show to their learning, the school and each other.
