Awbridge Primary School was founded in 1887
Today, we have five classes consisting of girls and boys from 4 to 11 years of age.
The school is well resourced with an aditional learning room, a large well-equipped multi-purpose hall, a vibrant, new and well stocked library and extensive ICT facilities. We have two large outdoor hard playing areas, an additional playground for KS1 and almost an acre of field for play and sports activities with a variety of play structures. We have our own wildlife area for plant, insect, butterfly and pond life investigations as well as an outdoor stage.
We are committed to equipping our children with the learning skills and love of learning that will provide them with an excellent foundation for their later education and indeed, life. Our world is ever-changing and we therefore aim to foster learners who are adaptive, creative, resilient and resourceful and able to take their place as citizens who can make a positive contribution to society. To do this we endeavour to create a curriculum that is inspiring and innovative while building on the best of strong traditions.
We are part of a family of schools in the local area. In 2010 we formed a Federation with Wellow and from September 2011 have had a formal collaboration with Halterworth Primary School in Romsey. The family is overseen by Executive Head Jo Cottrell NLE (A National Leader of Education). Whilst our shared drive is constant improvement and excellence all three school importantly retain their own unique identities. This allows us to retain the softness of a small school, yet have the power and strength of a large school.
