Awbridge Primary School History
Awbridge Primary School was Founded in 1877
Today, we have six classes (for 7 year groups) consisting of girls and boys from 4 to 11 years of age.
As a school we form part of a family of schools in the local area. In December 2020 we became part of an exciting new Academy Trust with Winchester University, meaning that our staff and pupils are supported by experts in the field of primary education.
Our school is well resourced with two additional learning rooms, a large well-equipped multi-purpose hall, a vibrant and well stocked library and extensive computing facilities including Ipads and Chromebooks. We have two large outdoor hard playing areas, an additional playground for KS1 and almost an acre of field for play and sports activities with a variety of play structures including a running track and a MUGA (multi use games area). We have our own wildlife area for plant, insect, butterfly and pond life investigations as well as an outdoor stage.
We are committed to equipping our children with the learning skills and love of learning that will provide them with an excellent foundation for their later education and indeed, life. Our world is ever-changing and we therefore aim to foster learners who are adaptive, creative, resilient and resourceful and able to take their place as citizens who can make a positive contribution to society. To do this we endeavour to create a curriculum that is inspiring and innovative while building on the best of strong traditions.
